Are we finally at the tipping point from our conventional sickness-based healthcare model to one of wellness?
Adam explains that while we have more technology, more science, & we know more about the human body than ever. But in fact: our human life expectancy is actually decreasing for the first time in 150 years! Essentially, he boils it down to a startling statistic: There are 157 million people who are reaching out for wellness experts for health coaching for life coaching, but they've never had it offered to them.
Certainly speaks wonders for us as practitioners, and gives us faith that there is MORE than enough of a market for us to serve. Actually, we are in high demand.
What's the best way for a health coach or practitioner to get their clients/patients faster results while increasing their value?
So this leads to the first bold move to make Dr. Money in 2022. What we see here is changing the way you're doing things, or simply put, changing the structure. Adam suggests shifting from a one on one transactional model into a group wellness model where you're working with a, it's like one too many instead of one to one, and he argues that you're able to get faster results with your clients.
What ends up happening is when you set it up, right, you're able to have more face time that your clients have more exposure to you, like once or twice a week rather than once or twice a month. And because there's a tribe of people all going for the same goal.
“I cannot tell you how powerful the results are”. Adam adds.
What big mistakes do you see functional - integrative - holistic experts making with their businesses right now?
Adam puts it bluntly: “Being generic”.
That's the biggest thing he sees. Because we want to help people, we want to be available to everyone. So we end up lowering our prices. And we end up saying, ‘Hey, I'm a health coach, and I can help you.’
But Adam reminds us the cold hard truth: people don't want to pay for health coaching - but they will pay big money if you help them solve a major health or wellness problem, or transform their health for the long term.
I also love how Adam busts myths around the complexities of “niching down”...
“Niche is nothing more than the focus of a marketing campaign. That's it, it is not setting in concrete what you do for the rest of your life.” ~ Adam
If you want to help people lower their blood sugar, and reverse the symptoms of diabetes, cool, that's your niche. If you want to help people lose weight - done, that's your niche, you don't have to go any further than that.
What's the best way to position a wellness offer so it creates "waiting line" demand, even if your price is $3k or more?
Okay, so step one:
Change the structure of the way you're doing things. Now, this will not work for everybody, because there are some practitioners who physically have to touch their clients - so a group online model is not going to work. But for 90% of the people out there and 90% of the dysfunction and disorders, this type of system works!
Number two:
Change the message.
Be authentic, get in there, and tap into the sweet spot of what makes somebody tick, and why they want to get over this big health or wellness, disease or dysfunction.
And then number three:
What Adam calls: change the income. And that is, you’ve got to set a price that's actually a bargain to your clients.
For some reason at a higher figure like $3K, something magical happens. It doesn't happen for $97, or $997. But once somebody invests $3K, into their own personal wellness, they show up, and they do the work.
